Photo duplicates not found

Maybe I’m dense, but this app doesn’t even look at photos. I give it a file to check (1,106 photos in the file) and it looks at 13 files and says “no duplicates” were found. I know there are duplicates there because I put a few there that are direct copies.
Luckily, I got it for “free” or I would demand my money back. (“Free” means you get spammed to buy something else from the company every time you try to open a new folder. What a come-on.)
